Job Description
An established and growing import and distribution business is seeking a hands-on Bookkeeper to join their Cape Town team. The business operates nationally and supplies premium food products to the restaurant and hospitality sector. This role will be based at their warehouse offices in Montague Gardens and offers the opportunity to take ownership of the full bookkeeping function for the Cape Town entity.

What you will be doing:
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping for the Cape Town entity
 - Perform bank reconciliations, cashbook maintenance, and general ledger processing
 - Capture supplier invoices, credit notes, and daily transactions
 - Prepare and maintain accurate records for monthly management reporting
 - Work closely with the outsourced accounting team and head accountant
 - Ensure Pastel data integrity and up-to-date financial records
 - Support payroll processing and VAT submissions where required
 - Assist with month-end close and liaise with external accountants on reporting
 - Provide ad hoc financial administrative support as needed
 
What we are looking for:
- Minimum 5 years’ bookkeeping or accounting experience
 - Strong working knowledge of Pastel (essential)
 - Excellent attention to detail and organisational ability
 - Reliable, consistent, and self-motivated
 - Able to work independently in a busy, operational environment
