Financial Accountant

Job Description

This is a hands-on Financial Accountant role for someone who knows how to operate in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, ideally manufacturing, FMCG, or food-related industries.

This role sits close to the numbers, the process, and month-end. You won’t be sheltered from the detail, you’ll be trusted with it.

 

What you’ll be responsible for:

• Managing and reviewing the cashbook function and resolving related queries
• Processing and reconciling a wide range of financial transactions
• Preparing and posting journals for management accounts
• Preparing and reviewing monthly income statement and balance sheet reconciliations
• Maintaining and reconciling the fixed asset register and wear-and-tear schedules
• Managing finance lease agreements
• Managing insurance-related matters, including declarations and claims
• Supporting month-end close and rollover procedures
• Assisting with reporting and information requests for Head Office
• Assisting with cash flow preparation and analysis
• Supporting internal, interim, and year-end audit processes
• Handling ad-hoc accounting and finance-related tasks as required

What we’re looking for:

• BCom Accounting degree
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar Financial Accountant role
• Strong Excel skills
• Experience in a pressurised, deadline-driven environment
• High attention to detail and a strong sense of accountability
• Ability to plan, organise, and manage competing priorities
• Strong problem-solving ability and initiative
• A collaborative, team-oriented approach
• Clear, professional communication skills
