Accountant

Job Description

A well-established organisation operating in a fast-paced, high-volume commercial environment is looking to appoint a SAIPA Qualified Accountant to join their finance team.

This role is suited to someone who understands industry, enjoys being close to operations, and is confident working in transactional environments where accuracy, pace, and accountability matter.

 

Key responsibilities:

This is a hands-on, full-function accounting role, including but not limited to:

• Month-end journal processing and reporting
• Balance sheet reconciliations across multiple accounts
• Cashbook reviews, postings, and reconciliations
• Payments, intercompany loans, and AR/AP reconciliations
• Royalties, profit share calculations, accruals, and depreciation
• Liaison with auditors, banks, SARS, and other external stakeholders
• Working closely with operational teams to resolve discrepancies
• Accurate and timeous reporting to senior finance

Non-negotiable requirements:

• SAIPA qualification
  Completed SAIPA Articles
  Proven industry experience within one or more of the following:
  – Quick Service Restaurants (QSR)
  – FMCG

Minimum requirements:

• BCom or BTech qualification
• SAIPA registered
• Minimum 4 years relevant accounting experience
• Exposure to high-volume, transactional environments
• Strong Excel skills
• Experience on Pastel Evolution (advantageous)
• Strong communication skills in English and Afrikaans
• Detail-oriented, organised, and commercially aware
