Role Overview

We are seeking a driven, proactive Sales Executive with a strong hunter mentality to grow our presence within the hospitality industry. The primary focus of the role is to identify, prospect, and secure new business from hotels, restaurants, bars, caterers, and hospitality groups. The remaining portion involves maintaining and developing a small portfolio of existing accounts to ensure customer satisfaction and incremental growth.

Focus: 85% New Business (Hunter) | 15% Account Management
Industry: Hospitality – Glassware, Cutlery & Crockery
Location: Cape Town
Reports to: OPS Manager / GM
Employment Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities

New Business Development – 85%

  • Identify and target new customers across the hospitality sector, including independent venues, hotel groups, restaurant chains, bars, and catering companies.
  • Proactively generate leads through cold outreach, networking, site visits, and industry events.
  • Conduct on-site product demonstrations and presentations showcasing glassware, cutlery, crockery, and complementary ranges.
  • Build a strong sales pipeline and manage it through the full sales cycle—from first contact to closing.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to achieve profitable sales.
  • Stay updated on competitor activity, market trends, and emerging opportunities.

Account Management – 15%

  • Maintain and grow revenue from assigned existing clients.
  • Conduct regular check-ins to ensure customer satisfaction and identify upsell/cross-sell opportunities.
  • Handle order queries, stock availability questions, and coordination with internal teams (operations, logistics, customer service).
  • Ensure high retention levels and long-term client relationships.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years’ experience in B2B sales, preferably within the hospitality supplytablewarecatering equipmentFMCG, or related trade sectors.
  • Strong hunter DNA—comfortable with cold outreach, field sales, and achieving aggressive new business targets.
  • Demonstrable success in winning new business and managing a sales pipeline.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage a territory, and travel to customer sites regularly.
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in quoting and order processes.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and sales reporting tools.
