Please note this is a mid-career level role, where hands on expertise in managing strategic procurement operations within a multicultural and multi-country environment; including export and logistics
- You will have a tertiary qualification in Supply Chain Management or related field, coupled with 7 plus years experience in the chemical, petrochemical, construction materials or related manufacturing sector
- You must have proven expert negotiation capability and contract management experience; demonstrate regional sourcing experience in SA and cross-border into Africa, as well as the negotiation, implementation, and management of framework agreements for key spend categories in raw materials and production consumables
- You will have a track record in overseeing inventory control to minimise stockholding levels and reduce stock value; as well as leading demand forecasting and ensuring timely order placement aligned to vendor lead times;
- Solid experience required in performing risk management for supply contracts and agreements; implementing procurement and supply chain policies with a focus on process simplification and digitalisation and managing new supplier approvals, supplier performance monitoring, SLAs, and supplier failure reporting
- You will have exceptional influencing, persuasion, and presentation skills, as well as the ability to work independently, strategically, and operationally in a complex regional environment.
- You must have a valid driver’s licence, own car and a clear criminal and credit record
