Senior Plant Mechanical Superintendent (OEM Maintenance / Reliability / Iron Ore)

Our client is seeking a Senior Plant Mechanical Superintendent to lead mechanical maintenance performance and capability development at a large-scale iron ore processing operation in Sierra Leone. The role is responsible for ensuring OEM compliance, improving plant reliability, and driving continuous improvement across all mechanical maintenance activities. This is a hands-on leadership position requiring strong technical depth and the ability to develop national workforce capability in a remote African mining environment.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee mechanical maintenance strategy and execution across the process plant
• Ensure compliance with OEM standards and best industry maintenance practices
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance plant reliability and uptime
• Train, coach, and develop expatriate and national maintenance teams
• Identify and resolve mechanical failures and operational risks at plant level
• Support maintenance planning and engineering decision-making processes
• Ensure accurate reporting of incidents, performance metrics, and compliance
• Drive safe working practices in line with HSE and company standards

Requirements: Qualification and Skill

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (essential)
• 15+ years’ experience in extractive or mineral processing industries
• Strong experience in process plant maintenance (crushers, SAG mills, conveyors, pumps)
• Minimum 10 years in senior leadership or superintendent-level roles
• Proven experience in OEM standards implementation and maintenance systems
• Experience in remote or African mining operations highly preferred
