Legal Manager Cape Town

A well-established organisation based in Cape Town is seeking to appoint an experienced Legal Manager to lead and oversee its legal function.

Salary: Market-related

Requirements: 

• LLB degree
• Admitted Attorney
• Minimum 5–8 years’ post-admission legal experience
• Previous experience in a Legal Manager / Senior Legal Advisor role advantageous
• Strong knowledge of commercial law, contract law, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance
• Proven ability to manage legal risk and provide strategic legal guidance
• Experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of legal agreements
• Strong stakeholder management and leadership ability

Duties:

• Managing the organisation’s legal and compliance matters
• Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial agreements and legal documentation
• Providing legal advice to management and internal stakeholders
• Identifying and mitigating legal and regulatory risk
• Overseeing litigation matters and liaising with external attorneys where required
• Ensuring compliance with applicable legislation, governance standards, and internal policies
• Supporting business operations with sound legal and commercial guidance
• Managing legal reporting, policy review, and internal legal processes
• Leading and mentoring junior legal staff where applicable
