Our client is looking for an Electrical Technician in there Engineering Department to join their team.

Below is a summary of the duties:

  • Developing and implementing electrical maintenance plans to prevent costly equipment breakdowns.
  • Attend to electrical, PLC and control system faults and breakdowns in the factory.
  • Troubleshooting electrical malfunctions and breakdowns, as well as performing repairs.
  • Optimizing electrical efficiency by adjusting machinery and equipment settings.
  • Maintaining a tidy work environment and adhering to HACCP and BRC standards
  • Fault finding and perform maintenance of 11kV switchgear and transformers.
  • Perform routine checks on temperature controllers, sensors, and other equipment.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols, including lockout/tagout procedures, while working on electrical systems.
  • Participate in safety training and toolbox talks, emphasizing safe practices when working with high-temperature machinery and hazardous materials.
  • Identify potential safety hazards in the workplace and implement corrective actions to mitigate risks.
  • Maintain accurate records of all electrical work performed, including maintenance logs, inspection reports, and equipment manuals.

Qualifications & experience:

  • N6/T3/S4 diploma or equivalent in Electrical Engineering field
  • Electrical Trade Test with red seal
  • Wireman’s license advantageous
  • Excellent knowledge and fault-finding skills, the ability to troubleshoot and resolve electrical, instrumentation and all process control issues.
  • Experience in Analog instrumentation, wiring, and configuration
  • Skilled in electrical and instrumentation installation and integration into existing Automation systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret basic drawings, preferably including electrical drawings.
  • Proficiency in PLC Programming and fault finding as well as SCADA and HMI Programming
  • Experience in Analog Instrumentation Wiring, Configuration and Fault Finding
  • Proficiency in working at heights safely and adhering to safety regulations.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in electrical field
  • In depth knowledge of maintenance practices
  • Will be required to perform standby duties, work overtime and shifts when required.
  • Willingness to work weekends as required to ensure operational continuity.
  • Computer literacy, particularly in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
