Solution Architect – Banking Sector

Our client in the Banking Sector requires the expertise of a Solution Architect to join their team. This is a 1-year fix-term contract with a strong possibility of extension based on performance and business requirements.

Purpose of the role

To provide overall application and systems design solutions that align with business objectives, architectural standards and technology strategies.  The successful candidate will be responsible for balancing business requirements against technical considerations, resource utilization, and enterprise architecture principles to deliver scalable and sustainable solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design end to end application and system architectures.
• Translate business and technical requirements into solution designs
• Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture standards and the bank’s strategic objectives.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams
• Evaluate and recommend technology solutions and frameworks
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, project managers, developers and infrastructure teams.
• Ensure solutions are scalable, secure, maintainable and cost effective.
• Participate in architecture governance and design reviews.
• Support the delivery of complex technology initiatives within the banking environment.

Minimum Requirements

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or related field
• Proven experience as a Solution Architect within a complex enterprise environment
• Strong background in Java development
• Advanced knowledge of J2EE and / or Spring Boot frameworks.
• Experience designing enterprise-scale applications and systems.
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycle methodologies.
