Position: Regional Sales Manager

Main Purpose of the Job:

To drive profitable sales growth within the Gauteng region by developing strategic customer partnerships, identifying new business opportunities, and executing commercial strategies that support the Company’s business objectives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in commerce, Marketing, Business Management or a related field.
  • A postgraduate qualification will be advantageous.
  • Valid driver’s licence.

Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years’ commercial sales experience within the FMCG, Consumer Goods or Food Manufacturing industry.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience leading and developing a team of Sales Representatives or a regional sales team.
  • Proven track record in business development, sales growth and key account management.
  • Experience managing strategic retail and wholesale accounts and Independent Trade.
  • Strong commercial, financial and analytical acumen.
  • Experience developing and implementing commercial sales strategies and negotiating trading agreements.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills. Experience with SAP, Salesforce or CRM systems will be advantageous.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, coach, motivate and develop a team of Sales Representatives to achieve regional sales and performance targets.
  • Develop and implement commercial sales strategies to drive profitable sales growth within the Gauteng region.
  • Identify and secure new business opportunities while growing existing customer accounts.
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with key retail, wholesale and independent customers.
  • Negotiate pricing, trading terms, promotional activities and customer agreements.
  • Monitor team performance, provide regular coaching and conduct performance reviews to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Analyse sales performance, customer profitability and market trends to identify opportunities for growth.
  • Prepare sales forecasts, budgets and performance reports.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Supply Chain and Operations to ensure exceptional customer service and execution.
  • Ensure effective account management while delivering sustainable and profitable business growth.
