ENVIRONMENT:
Our client, operating in the biotechnology sector, was established in 1987. Since its establishment, this vibrant company has remained committed to producing implant devices that adhere to rigorous standards of quality and biocompatibility. Presently, they are in search of a Procurement Manager to supervise the procurement process within the organization. This role encompasses tasks such as identifying suppliers, conducting contract negotiations, maintaining vendor relationships, and guaranteeing the cost-effective and efficient procurement of the company’s products (Instruments and Implants) as well as products sourced from international suppliers. A minimum requirement for this position is a B.Engineering degree in Industrial Engineering and 1 – 3 years post graduate experience.
 
DUTIES:
Strategic Sourcing:
  • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers to ensure the best value for the organisation.
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimise cost saving and supply chain efficiency.
Inventory Management:
  • Monitor inventory levels and adjust procurement strategies as needed.
  • Forecasting of Implants and Instruments
  • Minimize excess inventory and ensure on-time delivery of goods and services.
  • Establish a reliable lead-time for deliverables based on operational requirements
  • Identify operational priorities by evaluating lead-times and critical path items.
  • Provide regular updates on deliverable progress and deadlines
  • Monitor raw material usage and execute ordering of raw material as required
  • Process Instrument & Implant orders placed by accurately accounting Bill of Materials needed
Vendor Management:
  • Negotiate and establish favourable terms and contracts with suppliers (Local & International).
  • Monitor and evaluate vendor performance to ensure quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Resolve any supplier-related issues and disputes.
Budget and Cost Control:
  • Develop and manage the procurement budget.
  • Implement cost-saving measures and strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with budgetary constraints while maintaining quality standards.
  • Execute Payment requests for local and international suppliers
  • Ensure payment request process is followed (Quotes, purchase order and shipping documentation)
Compliance and Regulations:
  • Stay informed about relevant laws and regulations affecting procurement and ensure compliance.
  • Develop and enforce procurement policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation for auditing purposes.
Team Leadership:
  • Supervise and lead a team of procurement professionals.
  • Provide guidance, support, and training to team members.
  • Foster a collaborative and efficient work environment.
 
REQUIREMENTS:
  • BEng degree in Industrial Engineering.
  • Knowledge of industry-specific software and tools.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes.
  • 1-3 years experience post graduate experience.
