General Manager (Retail and Distribution)

Requirements

 

Our client, a leader in the manufacturing and distribution of Industrial, PPE and Hardware Products, seeks to employ a vibrant, organised and experienced General Manager to take responsibility for the business development and general management of all national branches.

 

Please note that this role does require candidates with a background in the retail sector, with our ideal candidate coming from the hardware, PPE or industrial product supply.  Due to the role requiring and existing network of customers and connections for business development, you will be resident in Cape Town

 

KEY REQUIREMENTS TO MEET FOR CONSIDERATION

 

• You will have completed a degree in Commerce or Business Management, coupled with 5-8 years experience in operational and business management, within the retail and/or industrial/hardware supply sector.
• You will have a proven track record in business development, achieving profitability by managing budgets, expenses and margins, as well as effectively managing and motivating staff across 3 branches in the Western Cape.
• You will have experience in driving digital platform sales, managing internal and external sales targets and ensuring warehouse and supply SOPs are optimally adhered to or honed to improve.
• You will have experience in designing and implementing strategic planning for growth of the branches and customer databases, as well as providing management reporting for the EXCO.
• Fluency in English and Afrikaans is essential.
• You must have a valid driver’s licence, own car and a clear criminal and credit record
