Plastics Equipment Support Manager

Requirements

 

Our client, a well-established and progressive machinery manufacturing company, based in Paarl, seeks to employ a qualified, organised and relevantly experienced Plastics Equipment Support Manager, who will be mentored and developed to progress into the Senior Operations Manager role as part of the client’s succession planning strategy.

 

Please note this role is NOT suited to a graduate but rather a mid-level career candidate, who has a strong background in the fabrication of equipment, electronic control systems and machinery mechanics, ideally geared toward machinery used in the plastics manufacturing sector.

 

It is also to be noted that the staff reporting to this role are based globally, therefore there is strong emphasis on being a natural leader, with the ability to provide support to global teams and also to motivate teams in various environments.

 

Travel is essential for this role, which can be for lengthy periods, thus this must be possible and suit the successful candidate

 

KEY REQUIREMENTS FOR CONSIDERATION:

• You will have completed a BEng or BSc degree in Mechatronics or Mechanical Engineering, with a solid understanding of both electrical and mechanical systems, coupled with 5- 8 years experience in a leadership role, motivating staff, managing the department budgets, maintaining and building relationships with customers on a global scale, as well as providing technical support.
• You will have a proven track record on equipment lease SLA’s, understand the dynamics of equipment R&D and improvements, as well as manage design improvements and implement the changes on the production floor.
• You will also have a track record in testing equipment in a lab environment where the impact on plastic products will be evaluated and improved.
• The ability to travel internationally is essential and due to this, only candidates who has been Covid Vaccinated will be considered to comply with various regulations of countries with existing Covid protocols.
• You must have a valid driver's license, a clear credit and criminal record and your own reliable vehicle.
