Senior Client Relationship Accountant

Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Client Relationship Accountant in Cape Town to join a UK based accounting firm in growing their team. We are looking for a CA(SA) or part qualified CA(SA) who is prepared to build relationships with small business clients. Key to this role will be onboarding new clients, helping with client training and set up, ongoing client contact and relationship and their ongoing tax and accounting queries. We are looking for a strong communicator, willing to inject their own personality into the client relationship. The role will work closely with one of the Directors/Founders and the client support team.

Responsibilities:

• We are looking for someone willing to work proactively with clients to provide the following:
• Client relationship management - promote regular client contact, and client relationships are key, this role would be the key relationship point with smaller clients
• New client onboarding – Supporting new clients through the onboarding process, including kick off calls and Xero/Dext training
• Client day to day management – Regular check-ups with clients, and pro-actively managing them to their upcoming deadlines
• Client queries/follow ups – Be the point person for client queries on Accounting and Tax questions
• Year-end accounts and self-assessments – Helping to address any questions that clients have on these
• You would be required to work with the Directors on improving the process for onboarding

Requirements:

• Qualified / part qualified Chartered Accountant / CIMA with experience working for small business client
• A technical Accountant who prefers the Client relationship/communication side of things
• Tax experience for small business clients – covering VAT, Payroll and Corporation tax
• Experience giving Small Business/Start up Accounting advice, including the understanding on the crossover with clients’ personal tax (at a simple level)
• Experience managing relationships with small business clients
• Strong communication skills both written and verbal
• Experience juggling multiple clients/projects without dropping the ball
• Experience using Xero and Dext systems would be a big plus
