An opportunity for a Financial Manager to assist the Head of Finance with accounting operations is available in Cape Town, Southern Suburbs. You will be responsible for producing financial reports, maintaining accounting records, and managing controls and budgets to mitigate risk. This role ensures accurate financial reporting in compliance with GAAP or IFRS. You will have excellent management, communication, and problem-solving skills, with strong analytical abilities and attention to detail. You will excel in team leadership, be self-motivated, and possess high computer literacy, especially in Excel and ERP systems. Responsibilities:

  • Assist in overseeing the operations of the accounting department
  • Provide leadership and mentoring to all staff in the finance department
  • Manage and ensure that all production processes and procedures are followed
  • Develop and drive continuous improvement
  • Assist in the management of various financial accounting functions
  • Review and submit weekly and monthly results
  • Review and submit monthly management accounts
  • Prepare quarterly board packs
  • Budgeting and forecasting
  • Monitor and interpret cash flows and predicting future trends
  • Facilitate the half-year and year-end audit process
  • Liaise with external and internal auditors
  • Manage Governance and Compliance
  • Oversee performance management of finance staff, including setting of KPI’s
  • Manage finance related systems and internal controls
  • Assist with the management of networking capital and forex exposure
  • Provisional and income tax computation
  • Ensure tax and legal Compliance

Requirements:

  • Qualified Chartered Accountant/CIMA or equivalent
  • Minimum of 7-10 years relevant experience within a similar role
  • Strong MS Office and MS Excel skills
  • Knowledge of Syspro will be advantageous
  • Experience within the FMCG environment would be advantageous
