ENVIRONMENT:
Our client, located in Stellenbosch, specializes in offering guidance on business trends, processes, and systems to empower clients to concentrate on their business endeavors, expansion, and future strategies with confidence. Presently, they are in search of an Accounting Manager to augment their team. This role, situated at a middle management tier, directly reports to the Partner/Director. They seek an individual of unwavering integrity, possessing outstanding communication and leadership proficiencies, essential for upholding the firm’s professional standing.  A SAIPA accredited degree with completed SAIPA articles is required for this role. (NON-NEGOTIABLE)
 
DUTIES:
  • Bookkeeping to trial balance and monthly reconciliation.
  • Submission and completion of statutory returns (VAT, PAYE, STC, DWT and IWT.
  • Submission of tax returns via E-Filing.
  • Calculation and submission of Provincial tax returns.
  • PAYE reconciliations via Easy File and E-Filing.
  • Preparation of salary schedules and pay slips.
  • Preparation of financial statements according to IFRS for SME’s – Companies/Closed, Corporations/Trusts/Individuals.
  • Responsible for measuring and implementing financial controls to minimize business risk.
  • Calculation of tax liability for Companies/Closed Corporations/Trusts/Individuals.
  • Review of small and medium size private companies.
  • Management statements and accounts.
  • Various reconciliations (Debtors and Creditors).
  • Stock/Inventory reconciliations.
  • SARS related queries.
  • Registration of VAT/PAYE and Income Tax for clients.
  • Payments on behalf of clients.
  • Preparation of fees, budgets, and quotations.
  • Achieve team and individual budgets and business performance objectives.
  • Formulating professional development and educational plans for junior staff members. (Trainees as assigned and rotated throughout a year).
  • Bi-annual merit evaluations for Trainees.
 
REQUIREMENTS
  • Strong technical knowledge and skills.
  • A SAIPA accredited degree with completed SAIPA articles. (NON-NEGOTIABLE)
