Senior Credit Analyst

My client, a leading, exciting and trusted energy brand in Cape Town, is seeking a Senior Credit Analyst to join and grow their team. The successful candidate must be able to activate and innovate change within the Credits team and assist in creating a dynamic collaborative team. This individual must be able to thrive under pressure within a deadline driven environment as well as proactively anticipate the needs of internal and external customers. 

 

Responsibilities: 

• Draw financial statements, credit agency reports and other customer information to complete credit reviews
• Gauge business plans of new Retail clients 
• Complete risk assessment of customers through assessment and analysis of credit life cycle
• Produce outcome and recommendations to stakeholders, consider customer value proposition in respect of credit risk/profitability reward
• Provide innovative Credit advice and solutions
• Identify relevant credit lines and security requirements
• Assist with customer, financial institutions, to determine appropriate security required
• Monitor account exposure proactively and take appropriate action to credit violations
• Work with customer, Account Manager, and other stakeholders  to resolve payment disputes
• Provide Business Unit management with monthly report of credit metrics and risk accounts
• Verify compliance with all Corporate policies, internal control and SOX reporting requirements

Requirements: 

• Must be a CA(SA) or equivalent qualification 
• Minimum of 5 years Corporate Credit and Retail Credit Experience, previous experience with credit management advantageous
• Must have excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication skills
• Strong financial acumen must be comfortable working with and assessing customer Financials
• Must understand IFRS standards (IFRS9) and other regulatory standards
