My client in the manufacturing industry seeks a detail-oriented operational Financial Manager proficient. The ideal individual will implement and maintain financial systems, ensure ethical practices, and have strong analytical skills. Experience in managing staff and multi-entry accounting is essential for this role. Someone who enjoyed getting their hands dirty as well as have the aptitude to present to the board on a senior level, will be the perfect fit. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and present management accounts
  • Perform analysis of accounts and data
  • Develop and maintain efficient and effective accounting and internal control systems
  • Liaise with various departments to prepare budget
  • Collate and review of budget presentation to executive
  • Manage bank accounts and cash management
  • Oversee bank accounts, balances and controls
  • Oversee and authorise daily payments
  • Responsible for preparation and payment of all taxes
  • Oversee calculation, submission of returns and payment of VAT, PAYE, UIF, SDL, Income Tax, Dividends Tax and any other such tax that may need to be paid
  • Monitor tax changes and evaluate for any required action related to payroll
  • Attend to salary bureau on time to ensure salaries paid on time
  • Prepare salary journal monthly
  • Assist HR to prepare quarterly employment statistics return
  • Prepare monthly payment request for total payrolls
  • Maintain records of car allowances
  • Manage pension and medical aid
  • Attend to payments for pension and disability by 7th of each month
  • Review all claims and follow up on settlements and allocate correctly
  • Maintain a log of and allocate numbers of approved requests
  • Sign contracts and ensure creditors clerk implements diary payments
  • Complete statistical returns or liaise regarding completion as required
  • Obtain annual COIDA declarations, returns, checking assessments and authorize payment

Requirements:

  • CA(SA)/CIMA/Professional Qualification
  • 5 – 10 years of experience in a senior accountant position
  • Experience in supervising a team of employees
