Our client in the manufacturing sector is looking for a Technician/ Expert Electrical to join their team based in Port Elizabeth.
 
Qualifications:
  • National Diploma Electrical Engineering
  • 3 Years working experience in PC Repair, Networking and Communication Siemens Step 7 Beckhoff PLC.
Duties:
  • Assist with breakdowns in all disciplines and troubleshooting on production machines 
  • Identify possible hardware and software breakdowns using the departmental/machine systems and pre-PM inspection checklist
  • Predictive and preventative maintenance on departmental machines as well as machine control systems
  • Machine ownership
  • Departmental ownership.
  • IMPROVEMENTS - Provide machine improvements to increase quality/production levels and to reduce breakdowns
  • Implement improvements in-line with pareto and root cause analysis
  • Maximum machine availability
  • Pursue energy saving projects
  • Responsible for PLC system adaptations, upgrades, and software modifications.
  • REPORTS - Prepare reports and make recommendations for improving department operations and solving maintenance-related problems
  • Do pareto analysis/root cause analysis and reports on repetitive machine related problems
  • Report in detail on performed work in SAP-PM
  • Validation and report on Control systems modifications.
  • SYSTEMS MANAGEMENTS - Manufacturing Execution Systems, implementation, upgrades, system enhancements and troubleshooting at machine level
  • IPC Management and upgrades.
  • Setting up new IPC's and integrating into network, configuring and set-up of machine specific software
  • Adhere to back-up and restore procedures and control system recovery
  • Change Management- Coordinate, Implement, Validate (test) and documenting of Software change requests on Control System Software in area.
  • BUSINESS UNIT - Give full support to all other business unit partners. Maintain KPI’s.
  • HR RESPONSIBILITIES - Comply with disciplinary procedures as per Company code of conduct.  
  • Update daily attendance and time keeping.
  • ESH - follow the internal ESH work instructions in the daily work; demonstrate exemplary personal behaviour in ESH and motivate others; ensure immediate notification and response, and initiate preventive measures in case of unsafe or polluting hazards.
