Financial Analyst/Modeller/Data Analyst

My client is market-leader in supplying of grid-connected renewable energy to South Africa. They are seeking a highly driven Financial Analyst/Data Modeller to join their dynamic, cross-functional team. The ideal individual will have strong financial modelling skills, data analytics experience, and expertise in customer pricing within the renewable energy industry. The role requires intellectual curiosity, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to handle complex tasks under pressure.

Responsibilities:

• Compile and analyse data for customer pricing proposals and management reporting
• Develop, operate and enhance customer pricing models
• Ability to tell stories through data visualisation
• Ability to work independently, as well as within and across multi-disciplinary teams
• Ability to successfully manage and close projects with large and/or incomplete data sets
• Manage data and modelling for internal processes such as budgeting and financial reporting
• Conduct in-depth analysis of electricity market trends and developments to inform and support business decisions
• Assist in building and automating the data management process, contributing to the development of new products
• Conduct analysis on metrics including profit and loss analysis and financial performance tracking
• Monitor and analyse sales funnel KPIs related to customer conversion metrics and performance
• Conduct customer segmentation analysis to inform sales strategies and identify opportunities for growth
• Assistance with ad hoc business requests

Requirements:

• CFA Charter Holder or CA(SA) qualification
• BCom degree in Business Science, BCom, Mathematics, Statistics or Engineering
• A minimum of 3 years of financial modelling experience
• Functional experience in data analytics, data visualisation, dashboarding and reporting
• Advanced skills in Excel and basic Python skills
• Renewable energy experience
