Financial Accountant

An exciting opportunity has opened for a Financial Accountant at a leading company in the FMCG and international space. If you have completed your SAICA or SAIPA articles and have experience in accounting within a medium-sized organization, this could be your next step. Responsibilities:

• Ensure accurate processing of expenses to correct General Ledger accounts
• Create new ledger accounts in the General Ledger
• Prepare journal entries
• Perform intercompany reconciliations
• Maintain and updating the Fixed Asset Register
• Preparing fixed asset purchase approval documents
• Overseeing the full creditor’s function
• Responsible issuing of purchase orders for approved orders
• Daily capturing of bank transactions
• Prepare bank reconciliations, petty cash, VAT inventory reconciliations
• Prepare and submit the VAT201
• Manager monthly analysis of fleet cards and allocation of fuel cost
• Assist with the preparation of supporting documents for relevant SARS audits
• Assist with audit file preparation for both internal and external auditors

Requirements:

• Completed SAICA or SAIPA articles
• BCom degree in Accounting or Finance
• A minimum of 2 -3 years’ experience in an accounting role
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Nav (advantageous)
• Computer literate with experience in MS Office and MS Excel intermediary to advance level
