HVC Supply Accountant

My client based in Cape Town CBD, is looking for an experienced Inventory or Supply Chain Team Lead for a 4 month contract. This role will be responsible for leading projects or be a key member of Project Teams and work closely with key stakeholders on continuous improvement or business change projects. They will also manage and supervise teams responsible for the delivery of Hydrocarbon Value Chain Accounting Services in Inventory Accounting.

 

Responsibilities:

• Monitor and review day-to-day operations in accordance with service level agreements, management goals and processes to ensure delivery meets customer expectations. Run and analyse performance and management information reports, plan and implement corrective action
• Contribute to the development of day-to-day execution plans for the team. Develop operational metrics / process performance indicators for the team in alignment with execution plans and wider business objectives. Lead and review operations to ensure the team’s accurate and timely delivery of Hydrocarbon Value Chain Accounting Services in accordance with service level agreements and relevant processes and policies
• Conduct review and approval of inventory adjustments and accruals during month-end close, inventory gain / loss, write offs and out of period adjustments within appropriate delegation and in accordance with group accounting policies and IFRS
• Monitor control reports to ensure accurate financial data, identify and resolve gaps in internal controls
• Manage risk by ensuring the GBS Risk Register is up-to-date, support the GBS Business Continuity Plan and ensure that Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and back-up procedures are documented and in place
• Provide relevant support and interface with internal partners and stakeholders as required to resolve escalations arriving from internal stakeholder queries
• Support external / internal audits, identify and control risk and drive incident investigations

Requirements:

• CA(SA) or CIMA or similar accounting qualification with at least 5-8 years post qualification business, accounting and finance experience
• Supply Chain and/or Inventory exposure and experience
• Risk and Compliance Management
• Business Performance management and reporting
• Have no notice period and be immediately available to take up the contract
