Job Position: Junior Accountant

Location: PE/Gqeberha

Salary: R20 000 per month commensurate with qualification and experience

Qualifications / Requirements:

• Matric

• B. Comm Accounting or equivalent accounting certification or busy with studies in accounting

• 3 to 5 years’ accounting experience

• Knowledge of bookkeeping practices

• Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and procedures

• Advanced knowledge of relevant computer applications – Microsoft Office (Word / Excel / PowerPoint)

• Must be computer literate

• Excellent communication skills

• Team-player

• Able to work and thrive under pressure

• Time management skills

Key Performance Areas:

• Analysis and verification of source documents such as invoices, receipts, computer printouts for tax compliance

• Allocation and posting of financial transactions

• Transfer of data from recons to general ledger

• Reconciliation of various general ledger accounts

• Scrutiny of Accountants for completeness and abnormalities and provision of variance analysis

• Maintain and improve internal control systems

• Prepare payments and bank deposits

• Comply with relevant reporting requirements

• Assist with audits - compiling working papers and supporting documents

• Maintain complete filing system to support financial records

• Experience in maintaining and collecting debtors

• Compilation of various financial reports including income statement, balance sheet, cash flow

• VAT reconciliations and submitting VAT returns

• Maintenance of fixed asset registers

• Supplier and customer account reconciliations

• Performing month-end close activities

• Rental billing and payment including maintenance of rent roll
