Opportunity Available!! Our leading client in the Automotive Sector is looking to employ a Manufacturing Engineer to join their dynamic team in Pretoria (Silverton).
 
Job Description: 
Launch &serial production:
  • Support launch team during prototype builds, ensure that all product requirements are fulfilled 
  • Support serial production in case of product issues analyses (8D, QRQC, KT, Lean manufacturing) 
  • Support quality team with specific tasks (firewall, specific product test, product audit) 
  • Support production with workforce planning (Direct labor) using MTM technique on provided software (Ticon)
Continuously improvement:
  • Participate on CI activities with solutions proposal (test optimalization)  
  • Make proposals to engineering team with cost reduction (VA-VE)
Product:
  • Be a leader and specialist of know how about product, know customer specifications and expectations (SCCAF) 
  • Be a leader with support of  engineering team on product issues (e.g. new SW) resolution and technically support effective change management 
  • Be a leader for developing product and process failure tree and support failures troubleshooting guide definition.
General:
  • Responsible for Customer Quality Systems (QOS) 
  • Responsible to Analyze and report on Plant production capacity. 
  • Create and update operation description sheets (ODS) 
  • Create plant and cell layout to enable efficient flow of product and raw material. 
  • Facilitate and participate in improvement projects and value stream groups involving multiple stakeholders across the business functions 
  • Attendance in various shop floor performance reviews to build loss/defect intelligence and set priorities. 
  • Ownership of focused improvement process - driving down losses in the plant 
  • Data analysis and planning of key improvements for critical measures such as build efficiency, waste, and process risk optimization. 
  • Identification and support of CI activities that will create value, leading focused improvement initiatives, Lean projects and FMEA risk reduction activities. 
  • Stabilization and standardization of production processes via definition of trigger levels for escalation in daily plant performance meetings 
  • Support process owners to implement new tools and improvement projects 
  • Verify effectiveness of new tools and sustained application in process
Job Requirements: 
  • Engineering Degree 
  • 3 Year Experience in Technical field 
  • Manufacturing Engineer or similar from an Automotive  
  • Experience in the FOAM industry will be an advantage
