Eldorado Fresh is looking for a Group Financial Manager with detailed experience and knowledge of financial and accounting procedures and the principles of internal controls. The right candidate will be organised, focused, a self-starter and willing for a hands on role. They will have the confidence and competence to oversee the full accounting functions of the business and build a sound and disciplined financial management and reporting system.

Eldorado Fresh, based in Tarlton, is the largest producer of crisp lettuce in South Africa. Known for an innovative approach, Eldorado Fresh delivers fresh produce to all the major retailers in South Africa as well as to the Fresh Produce Markets. It is a beginning to end operation built around a nursery that supplies premium quality seedlings, an efficient hydroponic system and a Packhouse capable of producing high quality products for all of our customers.

Group Financial Manager

The focus of this role will be the oversight for all accounting functions and staff, to ensure sound financial practices and to support the CFO and senior leadership team in meeting and exceeding overall financial objectives

Required Experience & Proficiency:

• Minimum: BCom (Accounting) Honours
• Additional qualifications will be advantageous
• Minimum of 10 years relevant work experience with 5 years' or more experience in a senior, full function, accounting role with management experience is essential
• Experience in the agricultural or manufacturing industries would be highly advantageous
• Experience with inventory management and cost accounting
• Experience in financial management, reporting, budgeting and forecasting
• Proficient with managing year end processes and audits
• Have been through a full audit firm articles process as part of your career development
• Strong working knowledge of VAT & tax laws, tax processes & IFRS for SME’s
• SARS e-filing and related experience
• Experienced in managing salaries and wages cycles for at least 150 employees
• CIPC knowledge and experience
• Experience with accounting and financial analysis tools
• Intercompany experience would be an advantage
• Registration with a professional body, e.g., SAICA, CIMA, SAIPA is desirable
• No criminal record

• High level of proficiency in Pastel accounting and payroll packages
• The ability to prioritise, excellent time management, planning and organisational skills, with strong attention to detail

• Able to work on own initiative with a high degree of accountability
• A collaborative attitude to working within the business and excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• High level of proficiency with MS Office, especially MS Excel
• Analytical skills with strong financial analysis skills
• Problem solving & decision-making skills
• Professional verbal and written communication and presentation skills
• Honesty and integrity with an ability to manage confidential information
• Self-leadership skills
• Willing to go the extra mile when required
