Automotive Machinist

Automotive Machinist urgently required for a Manufacturing situated in Johannesburg:

Permanent position.

Troubleshooting, Repairs & Installations of pumps.

Using machine tools and precision measuring instruments to create and modify Automotive parts.

Main duties and responsibilities:

• Inspecting and diagnosing automotive parts.
• Using Lathes, Milling machines, and Grinders, rebuilding parts.
• Operating CNC and Manual machining equipment.
• Performing precision measurements to ensure parts meet specified tolerances.
• Reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
• Performing routine maintenance on machine tools and other shop equipment.
• Testing and verifying the functionality of repaired or built parts.
• Keeping accurate records of all work performed for warranty and billing purposes.
• Adhering to safety regulations and maintaining a clean and orderly work area.
• Keeping up to date with the latest technologies and techniques in the automotive industry.

• Must have excellent mechanical aptitude, strong problem-solving skills, and a keen attention to detail.
• Reading blueprints is essential.
• Ensure that all parts are machined to the specifications detailed in blueprints and other instructions.

• Machining parts and components to specifications.
• Reassembling engines and components.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Qualifications

• High school Diploma or equivalent.
• MERSETA Trade tested.
• Proven experience as an Automotive Machinist.
• Knowledge of engine components and functions.
