New opportunity is available for a Laboratory Technician in the Paintshop of Production for our client in the Automotive Industry in Kariega.
 
Duties:
  • Analyzing all inbound solvents materials for qualitative and quantitative properties using various Laboratory instrumentation.
  • Ensuring that all routine tests required by Group standards are processed and documented accordingly
  • Implement quality control measures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of chemical analysis.
  • Ensure that all the Laboratory instrumentation and facilities are calibrated and maintained.
  • Maintaining laboratory management system for quality, administrative and technical operations
  • Liaising with accredited laboratories to fulfill the Municipal by-law requirements.
  • Ensuring compliance by controlling safety requirements on the operation of the laboratory.
  • Liaising with internal customers and suppliers to ensure that the quality, cost and schedule standards of materials are adhered to.
  • Planning, implementing and controlling new work instructions and procedures, for new test methods required
  • Coordinating and maintaining all technical and safety data sheets for materials used in the Paint Shop environment.
Qualifications:
  • National Diploma Chemistry or relevant Engineering qualification
Experience needed:
  • 3 - 5 years’ experience in chemical analyses, including sample preparation, instrument operation, and data interpretation
Essential:
  • Good Understanding of Chemical Compliance Management and guiding regulations
  • Sound technical knowledge of laboratory protocols, testing standards and ISO 17025
  • Proven analytical and innovative approach to qualitative and quantitative analysis of products and line problems
  • Computer skills (Windows, MS Office)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to work under pressure and be self-motivated
  • Sound communication skills and an ability to communicate at all levels
